COMMUNITY CONSULTATION

Public and community engagement is an important part of the project delivery process.

During the first three phases of the project, six open houses were held to present design concepts and obtain public feedback. A community liaison committee met regularly with the project team to discuss work in progress and provide feedback. The committee included representatives from: local governments, emergency services (such as police, fire, ambulance), First Nations, nature and environmental groups, cycling, rafting, commercial trucking, business, tourism, and economic development.

The ministry plans to re-establish a liaison committee for Phase 4 of the project.

Community representatives attended a
project progress update tour in October 2010.
One of the stops showed the wildlife passage under the new Mt. Hunter Creek Bridge.

Public Open House
March 4, 2010
